TIGERS COMPLETE SWEEP OF MINNESOTA WITH 6-2 VICTORY

Detroit gained a game on the Orioles, who suffered a rare loss to Kansas City. The Tigers’ 6-2 win gave them a three game sweep of Minnesota.

Chet Lemon led the way with a 3-5 day. He hit his 16th home run and also doubled. Larry Parrish and Enos Cabell chipped in with two hits apiece. Glenn Petry(13-7) was the winning pitcher.

Glenn Wilson went 1-5 with a single, but that hit was his 14th straight game with a knock, which is now the longest of the season for a member of the Tigers.

Next, the Tigers head to Texas to play the Rangers.
