MORRIS REACHES 20 WIN PLATEAU BY BEATING TEXAS RANGERS
Jack Morris(20-6) won his twentieth game, defeating the Rangers, 5-2. He went the full 9 innings, allowing two runs, one unearned. He gave up five hits, while fanning eight. Morris walked three, one of which scored.
Detroit got home runs from Lance Parrish(16) and Larry Herndon(14) and three rbi’s from Chet Lemon, on two singles and a sacrifice fly.
The Tigers and the Brewers took advantage of Baltimore finally losing(5-3 to Toronto) and now the two clubs are tied for second place, four games back.
Detroit will head out on the road, beginning with a scheduled double header against Toronto.
