TIGERS SIT 3.5 GAMES BACK AFTER TWINBILL SWEEP OF BLUE JAYS
The Detroit Tigers moved to within three and a half games of the division leading Baltimore Orioles by taking both games of a double header in Toronto.
In the opener, Chet Lemon hit his team leading 18th home run and Glenn Wilson singled twice and tripled, scoring three times. Juan Berenguer(9-7) got the start and the win.
Game two saw Dan Petry(15-8) notch his fourth shutout and 8th complete game of the year. Lou Whitaker, Lance Parrish and Alan Trammell all had two hits each.
