September 9th. Game one: Detroit 8 Milwaukee 4
Bulletin: Detroit defeated Milwaukee, 8 to 4, in game one of a double header at County Stadium. It was a season high 9th straight win for the Tigers.
The second game was still in progress when the press deadline came. The score was tied 2-2 after seven innings.
Glenn Abbott(10-11) earned the win in the first contest. Chet Lemon hit his team leading 19th home run, and also doubled and drew two walks. Kirk Gibson tripled, and Wayne Krenchicki had three singles.
