TIGERS SET STRAT HOUSE RECORD WITH 11TH STRAIGHT WIN
Detroit has won more consecutive games in one of my strat replays than any other team. They collected their eleventh win in a row, defeating the Boston Red Sox, 4-2.
They remain a half game in front of the Baltimore Orioles, who also won, defeating Milwaukee, 5-1.
Glenn Abbott(13-12) was the winning pitcher, Lance Parrish(20) and John Wockenfuss(8) homered, with Wocky’s homer putting the Tigers ahead for good, in the sixth.
Both Detroit and Baltimore are off tomorrow, with the stage set for the most important series of the year, Tigers at Orioles, beginning on Sept. 27th.
Other scores: Baltimore 5 Milwaukee 1; New York 6 Cleveland 4; Toronto 8 Oakland 6
