DICKSON IS ONE MAN GANG FOR PITTSBURGH

Murray Dickson(1-0) had one whale of a game in Chicago. The Pirate hurler spun a five hit shutout against the Chicago Cubs and in addition, smacked two doubles and a single, scoring one of Pittsburgh’s five runs.

Not wanting Dickson to have all the fun, Ralph Kiner(2) hit his second homer in as many games, though he did fan three times. Danny Murtaugh stayed hot, with another triple and a single.
