PIRATES BOUNCE BACK WITH 6-1 DEFEAT OF REDS
One day after getting demolished by Cincinnati, the Pittsburgh Pirates bounced back with a 6-1 win over the Redlegs.
A five run first inning was put up against Cincy starter, Herm Wehmeier, who issued two extra base hits and three walks before being pulled.
Pittsburgh’s Cliff Chambers(2-0) pitched one of the team’s best games thus far, a three hit complete game win, in which he had five strikeouts and not a single walk.
Clyde McCullough led the offense with a pair of doubles and two runs batted in. The series concludes with a double header today.
