BUCS DROP FIFTH STRAIGHT GAME; ARE SHUTOUT BY GIANTS
The Pirates slump continues as they have dropped five straight, the latest defeat coming at the hands of the New York Giants.
Clint Hartung tossed a 2-0 shutout, despite Pittsburgh outhitting the Giants, nine to six.
It was a rough start for Bill Werle(1-1), who lasted only 2.2 innings. Control was an issue, with Werle walking four in that short span.
