BUCS PLAYING .500 BALL AFTER ANOTHER LOSS TO PHILLIES

After a 6-0 start, the Pirates have fallen back to earth, and are now at the .500 mark after a 5-4 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Pittsburgh jumped out to a 4-2 lead, but Philadelphia scored four times in last of the seventh. Two of the runs were charged to starter Murray Dickson, the other two were the responsibility of losing pitcher, Hugh Casey(0-1).

The Phils big four of Hamner, Waitkus, Ennis and Nicholson, again did the damage, either scoring or driving in the runs in the fateful frame.

Wally Westlake had a good game in defeat, getting his (5th) homerun, along with a double and a single.

The Pirates long road trip continues as they head to Boston to try and right the ship against the Boston Braves, starting with a double header tomorrow.
