PIRATES WIN IN TEN INNINGS TO SNAP SKID

Stan Rojek doubled in the top of the tenth inning and Ralph Kiner singled him in as Pittsburgh got back on track by defeating the Boston Braves, 4-3.

In addition to those two players, Pete Castiglione and Ed Fitzgerald were terrific, each coming through with four hits. Fitzgerald scored twice and doubled.

Danny Murtaugh(2) had a two run homer in the top of the fourth. Hal Gregg(2-0) picked up the win in relief.

National League scores: St. Louis 14 Brooklyn 5; New York 7 Chicago 3. Philadelphia and Cincinnati were rained out.
