KINER LEADS PIRATE’S PASTING OF PHILLIES
Ralph Kiner’s three run home run in the fifth, his (20th) of the season, was the key blow in a five run inning, as Pittsburgh leaves Philly with one win out of three. Six Pirates had at least two hits, with Bockman and McCullough doubling.
The pitching was solid as well. Starter Murray Dickson(2-5) earned his second win of the year, and Harry Gumbert pitched three innings of solid relief.
The boys now head to New York, for a three game series with the Giants.
