BUCS CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR IN ONE RUN LOSS TO GIANTS

The Pirates battled, but in the end, fell one run short, losing, 7-6 to the New York Giants. Ralph Kiner’s day off evidently did him good, as he belted homer #24, a two run blast in the third inning. Ed Stevens(2) also went deep for Pittsburgh.

Sid Gordon homered for the Giants. Pittsburgh’s Ray Poat(0-3) suffered the loss.
