GIANTS’ SID GORDON SOCKS 3 HR’S IN ONE GAME; N.Y. SWEEPS BUCS

Pirate killer, Sid Gordon, third sacker for the N.Y. Giants, took the wind out the the Buccaneer schooner, belting 3 home runs in a 10-2 clubbing of Pittsburgh.

New York took all three games in the series, in which Gordon had 4 homers, a double, two singles and two walks. He scored six runs and drove in eight.

Ralph Kiner(25) and Wally Westlake(9) did their part, but starter Rip Sewell(3-6) never had a chance. Elmer Riddle went in as an innings eater after Sewell left after four. Elmer tossed the next five, giving up five runs on eight hits.
