GIL HODGES’ 3RD HOMER IN SERIES PART OF 6-1 DODGER WIN OVER BUCS

After hitting two home runs yesterday, Gil Hodges blasted a three run homer in today’s game, as Brooklyn beat Pittsburgh, 6-1, to take two out of three from the Buccos.

Don Newcombe limited the Pirates to one run on four hits. Bill Werle(3-7) worked seven innings, leaving while trailing by just one run, but Pittsburgh could put no further runs on the board.
