KINER’S HOMER ONLY RUN IN PIRATES 2-1 LOSS

The Cardinals scored two runs off Rip Sewell(4-7) in the top of the first. St. Louis starter, Red Munger then kept Pittsburgh off the board until Ralph Kiner hit his 32sd home run in the bottom of the seventh.

Sewell, Tiny Bonham and Elmer Riddle then kept the Cards from scoring the rest of the way, but the Pirates could generate no further offense.
