CHAMBERS GETS BACK TO FORM IN BUCS 7-2 WIN OVER CUBS

Having struggled of late, Cliff Chambers(9-6) returned to form with a solid performance in Pittsburgh’s 7-2 win over Chicago.

Chambers went 7 innings, allowing 0 earned runs(1 unearned), on five hits. He fanned six and walked just one batter.

Errors were a big part of this game, with each team committing two. Hal Jeffcoat wore the goat horns, committing a two base error, along with a three base error in center field.

Ralph Kiner’s miscue in left led to Chicago’s first run in the seventh inning.

Hugh Casey struggled in relief, allowing 1 run on four hits, with a walk, in two innings.

Eddie Bockman had a two run triple, and Wally Westlake had a double and a single.
