JUNIOR WALSH FAST BECOMING A FAN FAVORITE IN PITTSBURGH
Struggling Murray Dickson was scratched from his start, and Junior Walsh took the hill against the Reds.
Walsh(2-0) ended up with his second win in as many starts, working eight innings, with just one run allowed, as Pittsburgh defeated Cincinnati, 9-1,
Not only was Junior a hit on the pitching mound, he brought his bat along as well, with a triple, two singles and two runs batted in.
Walsh had plenty of offensive help. Dino Restelli(15) homered and hit three singles. Ralph Kiner singled, doubled and had a sacrifice fly. Phil Masi also had a single and a double.
