DODGERS ARE JUST TOO MUCH FOR PIRATES IN 8-4 WIN

A two base error by Wally Westlake led to three Dodger runs in the first inning and Brooklyn added home runs by Duke Snider and Gil Hodgers as the Bums defeated the Pirates, 8-4.

On the Pirates side, Westlake hit his 21st homerun and also tripled. Ralph Kiner returned to the lineup, but was hitless in four trips to the plate. Rip Sewell(7-11) was the losing pitcher.
