BROOKLYN BEATS PITTSBURGH AGAIN
Home runs accounted for all the scoring, but the Dodgers hit two to the Pirates one, in a 3-1 victory in Pittsburgh.
Pee Wee Reese took Junior Walsh(3-4) deep in the top of the first, then Jackie Robinson hit a two run clout in the sixth.
Pittsburgh’s lone run of the game came on Dino Restelli’s(17) homer, also in the sixth inning.
It was a hard luck loss for Walsh, who despite the two long balls, limited the Dodgers to just four hits, and did not walk a batter.
By contrast, Hal Greer, who relieved Walsh, walked four in just an inning and a third.
Pittsburgh kicks off a three game series with the N.Y. Giants, starting with a doubleheader tomorrow.
