YANKEES THROTTLE RED SOX ONCE MORE
For the second straight day, the New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox with ease. This time, the Yanks rocked Ellis Kinder(0-1) and the Sox, 7-4. Kinder alowed six runs and 12 hits in five innings.
Yogi Berra, Dick Kryhoski and Phil Rizzuto all had three hits each. Berra’s three run homer was the biggest blow for the Yankees.
Eddie Lopat had basically shut Boston down for the first six innings. The Red Sox finally broke through in the seventh. Johnny Pesky singled, Bobby Doerr doubled and Vern Stephens(2) hit a three run homerun.
New York takes the series, two games to one. Boston now will host the Washington Senators in their next series.
