“WIGHT” SOX 6 RED SOX 1; ZARILLA INJURED. WILL MISS TWO GAMES
Chicago’s Bill Wight tossed a complete game, five hitter, as Chicago defeated Boston, 6-1. Only an error by the defensively challenged, Gus Zernial, kept Wight from a shutout. Boston’s lone run came as a result of the gaffe, in the top of the ninth inning.
Al Zarilla twisted his ankle while running to first in his first at bat. He had to leave the game and will miss the next two contests. Tommy O’Brien will replace him in right field.
Pat Dobson(0-2) took the loss in this one.
