RED SOX WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT; PARNELL, STOBBS COMBINE TO BLANK CHISOX

Boston defeated the Chicago White Sox, 6-0, with Mel Parnell(4-1) earning the win. Parnell was visibly upset when he was lifted from the game after walking two batters back to back, in the top of the eighth inning.

When he was pulled, Parnell had a six run lead, had allowed no runs on just 3 hits, had struck out five, but he had issued seven base on balls, too many to finish the game, in the eyes of Red Sox manager, Joe McCarthy.

Chuck Stobbs finished up, getting two outs in the eighth and the last three in the ninth. Parnell is the only pitcher on the staff with a shutout. He has two and was in line for his third in this game.

Johnny Pesky lived up to his name, reaching base all five times, with a single, triple and three walks. Dom DiMaggio scored two runs and Al Zarilla, Birdie Tebbetts and Billy Goodman each had two hits.

Other American League scores: New York 6 Cleveland 0; Philadelphia 8 St. Louis 6; Washington 6 Detroit 3.
