BOSTON HOLDS OFF DETROIT FOR 7TH STRAIGHT VICTORY
The Red Sox jumped out to a four run lead, then held on as Detroit climbed back in it. The Tigers scored two runs in the third and two more in the top of the ninth, to pull within one run, but Boston was able to hold them off, to claim their seventh win in a row.

Detroit issued 11 walks, a new high for a single game.
