AL ZARILLA’S GRAND SLAM HIGHLIGHTS BOSTON’S 7-2 WIN

Al Zarilla(4) belted a grand slam off Early Wynn in the top of the third inning and Birdie Tebbetts(5) hit a two run clout, as the Red Sox defeated Cleveland, 7-2. All runs scored on Zarilla’s grand slam were unearned, due to a dropped fly ball by Mickey Vernon.

The Indians walked 10 batters, one short of the season high for the A.L.

Joe Dobson(3-2) collected the win, working 5.1 innings before Earl Johnson took over to finish out the last 3.2 innings.
