TIGER BULLPEN IMPLODES IN 8TH, GIVING RED SOX, 8-6 WIN

Boston was losing, 6-4 to Detroit, when, in the eighth inning, Lou Kretlow and Dizzy Trout issued five walks and a single, leading to four Red Sox runs.

Detroit’s Aaron Robinson hit a grand slam off starter, Joe Dobson, in the sixth, however, all the runs were unearned, due to a Vern Stephens error, earlier in the inning.

Jack Kramer(4-2) earned the win in relief. Johnny Pesky had three hits and a walk and also scored two runs.
