RED SOX COMPLETELY DOMINATE SENATORS OVER LAST SIX GAMES
Boston has wrapped up their latest series with a 13-2 rout over the Washington Senators.
The six game series, in which the Red Sox won every game, was the finale in the team’s longest home stand of the season. Boston finished with a 17-6 record in the 23 game run at Fenway Park.
In this latest series, the Red Sox outscored the Senators, 43 runs to 14. The final, 13-2 pasting, saw Joe Dobson improve to 7-3. Ted Williams(37) homered, hit two singles and walked twice, scoring four runs.
Al Zarilla clubbed his (12th) and also doubled. Billy Goodman added three singles and a double. Vern Stephens doubled twice. Even Dobson got in on the act, with an rbi single.
Sherry Robertson homered for the Senators in the loss.
The Yankees lost to the Athletics, giving Boston their largest lead of the year.
