PARNELL GOES 8 STRONG INNINGS TO WIN 18TH GAME
Mel Parnell(18-4) bounced back after a loss last time out, pitching eight strong innings as the Red Sox defeated the Senators, 4-2.
Dom DiMaggio(9) homered on the very first pitch of the game from Washington’s Sid Hudson, however, the Senators countered when Gil Coan tripled on Parnell’s first pitch of the ball game. Coan would score and Washington added a second run in the fourth inning.
