Ellis Kinder improves to (11-5), with a masterful, four hit shutout of the Cleveland Indians. The 3-0 win was the first time that Kinder has held the opponent scoreless in a complete game win.

Al Zarilla’s second inning sacrifice fly, which scored Ted Williams, gave the Red Sox an early 1-0 lead. Vern Stephens'(24) solo homer in the fifth made it 2-0, then Boston grabbed their final run in the top of the ninth, when reliever, Frank Papish gave up two singles and two walks, with recording a single out.

Boston and Cleveland have a double header today.

The Yankees swept a pair form the White Sox so as to gain a half game in the standings.
