ONCE AGAIN, MEL PARNELL LEADS RED SOX TO A WIN
Like he has done many times this season, Mel Parnell(21-6) put the team on his back and led Boston to an 8-1 win over the St. Louis Browns.
Parnell allowed just one run on five hits, as Boston collected their 96th win of the year. Boston got a three hit day from Bobby Doerr, including his 21st home run.
Birdie Tebbetts broke out of a 0 for 28 slump, with a 3-4 day, including two doubles.
The Red Sox-Browns series concludes tomorrow.
