Vinegar Bend Mizzell(2-0) allowed an unearned run in the top of the first, but settled down quickly, and gave up no more runs and just three hits the rest of the way, as Pittsburgh completed a three game sweep of Philadelphia.

The Pirates banged out seven runs on fifteen hits in the finale. Bill Virdon(2) homered; Bill Mazeroski doubled twice and scored three runs and Smokey Burgess added three hits.

Pittsburgh will now host the Milwaukee Braves for the final series of the current homestand. Harvey Haddix is slated to go against Juan Pizzaro.
