MIZELL BRILLIANT; BUCS BATS EXPLODE IN 10-0 ROUT OF PHILLIES
Pittsburgh picked on last place Philadelphia for the second game in a row, again shutting out the Phils and scoring 10 runs themselves.
Vinegar Bend Mizell(5-2) had himself a day. The lefty tossed a two hit shutout, fanning eight, while issuing just two walks. Mizell was no slouch with the stick, either. He was 2-4, with a double, a run scored and two runs batted in.
Bill Virdon bounced back with a three rbi day. Dick Groat had three hits, Clemente, Mazeroski and Burgess, two each.
Most teams have Memorial Day doubleheaders tomorrow, including the Pirates, who host the Milwaukee Braves.
