DICK GROAT JOINS BILL VIRDON AS SECOND BUC TO HIT FOR THE CYCLE

In an 8-2 win over the Cubs, Dick Groat become the second Pirate this year and the sixth overall in Stratball, to hit for the cycle. He joins Bill Virdon, who turned the trick against the Dodgers on May 9th.

Groat(1) had a single in the first, a triple in the third, a double in the sixth, all off starter, Bob Anderson, then hit a homerun off reliever, Moe Drabowsky, in the eighth. His four runs scored led the club.

Bob Skinner(3) and Bill Mazeroski(3) also went deep for Pittsburgh. Bob Friend(7-2) earned the win on the mound.
