BENCH PLAYERS STEP UP TO GIVE PIRATES A 6-4 WIN OVER DODGERS

Bill Virdon and Bill Mazeroski were the only two regulars in the lineup. But the Buccos six bench players in the lineup helped Harvey Haddix(4-3) to a 6-4 win over L.A.

Maz(3) and Rocky Nelson(1) both homered, with Rocky also collecting a double. Dick Schofield scored twice and Haddix helped at the plate as well, going two for four, with a run scored.

Elroy Face picked up a save, working the final two innings.
