PIRATES WITHIN TWO GAMES AFTER SWEEPING MILWAUKEE

Pittsburgh wrapped up a three game sweep of the first place Milwaukee Braves over the holiday weekend, thereby moving to within two games of the top spot. The Pirates won, 5-4, in the finale.

Elroy Face(3-2) took over for Bob Friend in relief and copped the victory. Dick Groat led the offense with three hits, Bill Virdon had two and Bill Mazeroski hit his (4th) homerun.

The Bucs now move on to Crosley Field in Cincinnati, for a short, two game set.
