PHILLIES STOP FRIEND AND END PITTSBURGH’S WIN STREAK AT 7 GAMES
Bobby Del Greco and Pancho Herrera each homered off of Bob Friend(9-4), as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-3.
That ends a seven game win streak for the Pirates, who remain a half game out of first place, as Milwaukee fell to Cincinnati.
Rocky Nelson remains red hot, as went 4-5, with two doubles. Don Hoak(10) is closing in on the team home run lead with Dick Stuart, who currently has 12.
