Wally Post singled in Gus Bell, who had doubled in the top of the tenth inning, as the Cincinnati Reds went on to defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-3.

Bennie Daniels(1-4) took the loss. Vern Law started and went six innings, leaving with the score tied 3-3.

Unfortunately, for Pittsburgh, Milwaukee beat the Phillies to go a game and a half up in the standings.
