PIRATES SCORE 4 RUNS IN TOP OF EIGHTH IN COMEBACK WIN OVER GIANTS

Juan Marichal looked to be in complete control as he carried a 3-0 lead over Pittsburgh into the eighth inning.

However, things changed in the Pirates favor that inning. Bill Mazeroski singled. Relief pitcher, Fred Green(4-3) batted for himself and struck out. Bill Virdon singled and Dick Groat walked, ending the Dominican Dandy’s stint on the hill.

Johnny Antonelli came in and gave up a single to Bob Skinner, which plated Mazeroski. Rocky Nelson reached on a error by Eddie Bressoud, making it, 3-2. Billy Loes came in to try his luck and Geno Cimoli tagged him for a two run single, putting the Pirates in front, 4-2.

Green pitched to one batter in the Giants eighth, Don Blasingame, then Elroy Face finished the rest of the way.

Milwaukee got back on track, beating the Cubs.
