SATURDAY, AUGUST 6TH, 1960. GM# 102 AT PITTSBURGH. GIANTS 16 PIRATES 3
The San Francisco Giants humbled the Buccos, handing them their worst defeat of the year in a 16- 3 mauling. Vinegar Bend Mizell(10-6) has one of his poorest starts, as he was tagged for five runs in just one an one third innings. Usually reliable reliever, Fred Green also had a five spot hung on him. Willie Mays tattooed two triples and a single, while Bob Schmidt, Felipe Alou and Willie Kirkland all had three hits each. The Pirates wasted a four hit day from Bill Virdon.
