SERIES #6. ONE GAME. LOST. CHICAGO AT BALTIMORE.
A one day stop in Baltimore brought an end to Chicago’s winning streak. The Orioles defeated the White Sox, 3-2, when Brooks Robinson singled in Merv Rettenmund in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Walt Williams(1) hit a two run homer in the top of the third, for Chicago’s only runs of the game. Steve Kealey(0-2) took the loss in relief. Wilbur Wood started against Dave McNally. Though McNally gave up Williams’ homerun, he fanned a dozen.
