SERIES #19. THREE GAMES, WON TWO. CHICAGO AT BOSTON
Chicago got two strong pitching performances from Wilbur Wood(6-2), who went seven innings in a 3-1 win; and from Tom Bradley(8-3), who tossed a complete game as the White Sox won game two, 5-1. Mike Andrews had three hits in the first game. Jorge Orta(5) hit a solo homerun in the second game.
Boston’s John Curtis scattered six hits in a 4-0 shutout against Chicago in game three. Carl Yaztremski tagged starter, Eddie Fisher(5-2) for a double and a two run homer. Walt Williams had three hits in the loss.
The White Sox now head to Milwaukee for a three game series with the Brewers.
