Peaches 4 Hammers 2. Homeruns by Honus Wagner and Sherry Magee, plus a costly two base error by Luis Aparicio, allowed the Peaches to win their first game of the year against the Hammers. Mad Dogs 6 Sultans 5 (12 inn). The Mad Dogs won the first extra inning game of the year, when Ken Griffey Jr. singled in Barry Bonds, who had tripled, in the bottom of the 12th inning. Terrifics 4 Naturals 1. Steve Carlton tossed a complete game, three hitter and Johnny Bench homered as the Terrifics beat the Naturals, 4-1. WP-Carlton(1-0) LP-Lester(0-1).
