Peaches 9 Clippers 7. Clippers starter, Schoolboy Rowe left after five innings with a 6-4 lead, thanks to a pair of homeruns from Joe DiMaggio and one from Stan Musial. However, Red Ruffing gave up five runs in the bottom of the seventh as the Peaches came back to win, 9-7. WP-Chief Bender(1-0) LP-Red Ruffing(0-1). HR-J.DiMaggio 2(2), Musial(1); Wagner(2). Sultans 5 Naturals 3. Babe Ruth was both good and bad, hitting his first homerun, but also committing a three base error in right field. Tris Speaker and Rogers Hornsby each scored twice to held Carl Mays to his first win of the year. WP-Carl Mays(1-0) LP-Javy Lopez(0-1). HR-Cabrerra(1); Ruth(1).

Comets 6 Hammers 3. There were a total of five homers in this game, two by Comets slugger, Mickey Mantle. Roy Campanella hit his third of the season and Ed Mathews, who was replacing injured Ken Boyer, also went deep. Frank Robinson hit his first for the Hammers. Mad Dogs 4 Terrifics 3. Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and Ken Griffey Jr. hit back to back to back homeruns in the sixth. McGwire had two on the day. Rennie Stennett hit a two run, pinch hit single off David Wells in the bottom of the ninth, but Wells hung on for the complete game win. WP-David Wells(1-0) LP-Tom Seaver(0-1). HR-Bonds(1), McGwire 2(3), Griffey Jr.(1); Morgan(1).
