Hammers 8 Peaches 6. A two homer, five rbi night by Willie Mays, helped the Hammers to a win over the Peaches. Clippers 15 Comets 3. It was a full on massacre, as the Clippers erupted for fifteen runs against the Comets, eight of those against starter, Robin Roberts. For the first time in Stratball history, two players on the same team, in the same game, hit grand slams. Ted Williams and Jimmie Foxx turned the trick, and to boot, they each had two homeruns each. Jackie Robinson hit his first long ball of the year and even pitcher, Mel Parnell, who earned the win, had a couple singles. WP-Mel Parnell(1-0) LP-Robin Roberts(0-1). Terribles 7 Naturals 0. Mickey Lolich notched the first shutout of the season, blanking the winless Naturals, 7-0. Johnny Bench and Rod Carew each went deep for the Terribles. WP-Mickey Lolich(1-0) LP-Justin Verlander(0-1). HR-Johnny Bench(2), Rod Carew(1).

Mad Dogs 2 Sultans 1. After Tris Speaker hit a game tying homerun off Roger Clemens, in the bottom of the eighth, Pudge Rodriguez went yard in the top of the ninth off Herb Pennock, allowing the Mad Dogs to edge the Sultans. WP-Roger Clemens(1-0) LP-Herb Pennock(0-1). HR-Ivan Rodriguez(1). There were two injuries in this game. Sammy Sosa(2 games) for the Mad Dogs and Babe Ruth(2 games) for the Sultans.
