INJURIES
They continue to pile up. Ryan Braun has been called up to replace Bryce Harper, who is out for 30 days.(I changed the games injured to days injured, just easier to keep track of). Robin Ventura is now off the table for the Mad Dogs for the next month after being hit by a pitch in his last game. His replacement is Scott Rolen. Also, Bob Elliott of the Clippers was banged up and will miss four days.
RESULTS OF APRIL 2OTH GAMES
Clippers 2 Hammers 1. Schoolboy Rowe and Juan Marichal each gave up a run in the first inning. After that, the game was scoreless until the top of the ninth. Ted Williams drew a walk off reliever, Billy O’Dell and later scored on a Mickey Cochrane two bagger. That would hold up as the winning run. WP-Red Ruffing(1-2) LP-Billy O’Dell(1-2).
Naturals 13 Mad Dogs 4. The cellar dwelling Naturals put a thirteen run pasting on the best team in the league. Miguel Cabrera hit a pair of homers, while Troy Tulowitzki and Scott Rolen also went yard. Starter and winner, Max Scherzer struck out 11 in seven innings, but also surrendered gopher balls to Griffey, Jr., Sosa and Palmeiro. It was Sammy Sosa’s first game back from the disabled list. WP-Max Scherzer(1-0) LP-David Wells(1-1). HR-Cabrera 2(3), Tulowitzki(1), Posey(1); Griffey, Jr.(3), Sosa(4), Palmeiro(2).
