Peaches 10 Clippers 6. The Peaches scored early and often, posting six runs over the first three innings against Mel Parnell. The Clippers battled back but ultimately fell short. Ty Cobb had a homer, double and a single; Wildfire Shulte had a homerun and two singles and Honus Wagner had a homerun and a single. WP-Ed Walsh(1-0) LP-Mel Parnell(1-1). Hammers 5 Comets 2. The Hammers broke a two all tie, with three runs scored in the bottom of the eighth inning. A Gil Hodges error was a factor in the big inning, with Willie McCovey slashing a two run single. Frank Robinson and Elston Howard hit solo homeruns. WP-Larry Jackson(1-0) LP-Robin Roberts(0-2). Sultans 5 Naturals 1. The Sultans led the whole way, but Ray Schalk’s, three run clout in the top of the eighth, put the game on ice. Babe Ruth also went deep and Herb Pennock grinded out a complete game win. WP-Herb Pennock(1-1) LP-Clayton Kershaw(1-2). HR-Babe Ruth(3), Ray Schalk(1).

Terrifics 6 Mad Dogs 5. A thriller here, as the Terrifics took a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the eighth, then watched the Mad Dogs score twice in the eighth and once more in the ninth, but in the end, Sparky Lyle got Roberto Alomar to hit into a game ending double play. Mike Schmidt had a huge game, with two homeruns and a triple and he also walked twice. Joe Morgan also homered for the Terrifics. WP-Sparky Lyle2-0) LP-Mariano Rivera(0-1).
