Clippers 6 Peaches 4. Ted Williams belted two homers and Stan Musial added a homerun and a triple as the Clippers beat the Peaches behind Dizzy Dean. Wildfire Schulte tripled twice and Honus Wagner hit two doubles in the loss. WP-Dizzy Dean(1-1) LP-Rube Waddell(1-1). HR-Ted Williams 2(5), Stan Musial(5).
Hammers 3 Comets 1. Don Drysdale kept the Comets off the scoreboard until Norm Siebern hit a solo shot in the top of the eighth. But fortunately, Drysdale had a three run lead going into the eighth and held on for the win. WP-Drysdale(1-1) LP-Spahn(2-1). HR-Norm Siebern(1); Willie Mays(6).
Terrifics 7 Mad Dogs 1. Bob Gibson had a solid pitching performance, working seven innings, allowing one run on five hits. Rod Carew had three hits, Johnny Bench two and Reggie Jackson finally hit his first homerun of the year. Mark McGwire went deep for the Mad Dogs. WP-Bob Gibson(2-1) LP-Maddux(0-1). Sultans 13 Naturals 3. The Sultans put a real hurting on the Naturals, in a 13-3 rout. They scored 10 runs over the final three innings and oddly, Babe Ruth had the only homerun in the game, but it was a big, three run blast in the ninth. Shortstop, Ray Chapman, had three hits and two runs batted in. Bubbles Hargrove spelled Ray Schalk at the catcher position and had a nice game, hitting a single and a double and scoring twice. WP-Dazzy Vance(2-1) LP-Jon Lester(0-2). HR-Babe Ruth(4); Miguel Cabrera(4).
