Peaches 4 Terrifics 1. The Peaches won the game, but lost their starting catcher, Chief Meyers, when he was drilled in the head by Terrifics’ starter, Mickey Lolich. Meyers was knocked out briefly and is expected to miss a full 30 days. He was replaced in the game by Roger Bresnahan and catcher, Oscar Stanage was called up to fill out the 25 man roster. Wildfire Schulte hit a rare, three triples in the game, a feat believed never before to have happened in the Legends League. Eddie Plank earned his first win after four straight no decisions. Sultans 4 Hammers 3. Homeruns continue to be the bugbear for Sandy Koufax. He gave up four more long balls in this game, two by Ray Schalk, accounting for all of the Hammers runs. Comets 3 Mad Dogs 2. Robin Roberts earned his first complete game win of the year, and in doing so, the Comets handed Roger Clemens his first loss. Roberts was in control most of the game. He allowed a solo homer to Alex Rodriguez and had a bit of drama in the ninth, but he struck out Ivan Rodriguez with runners on first and second to end the game. WP-Robert Roberts(3-2).
