NATURALS POWER PAST SULTANS IN 8-2 VICTORY

Mad Dogs 5 Terrifics 2. The Mad Dogs got a pair of homers from Chipper Jones and Tom Glavine tossed his second straight complete game, as they topped the Terrifics, 5-2, in a battle of the top two teams in the league. Mike Schmidt’s two run clout was the lone offense for the Terrifics. Like Sandy Koufax of the Hammers, homeruns allowed continue to be a real issue for Tom Seaver, who took the loss. WP-Tom Glavine(3-1). LP- Tom Seaver(1-4). HR-Chipper Jones 2(3), Mark McGwire(7); Mike Schmidt(7).

Naturals 8 Sultans 2. It was simply a matter of too much offense, as the Naturals banged out four homeruns against the Sultans, winning easily, 8-2. Joey Votto was a single short of the cycle and Miggy Cabrera hit his league leading, twelfth homerun. Yasiel Puig added a homer and a triple. Similar to the other game, Babe Ruth’s two run homerun was it for the Sultans. WP-Jon Lester(2-2). LP-Herb Pennock(2-3).
