Terrifics 7 Sultans 1. Tom Seaver went the distance, scattering six hits in a 7-1 win over the Sultans. Rod Carew and Elliot Maddox paced the Terrifics with three hits each. WP-Tom Seaver(4-6). LP-L. Williams(0-5). HR-Joe Morgan(8), Rogers Hornsby(8).

Hammers 9 Comets 6. This was a wild game. The Hammers’ Frank Robinson was hit by Bob Lemon pitches in his first two at bats. The second time, he had to leave the game and he will now be out until June 9th. Benches cleared after that, but things settled down. In the fourth inning, Mickey Mantle was plunked by Don Drysdale, emptying the bullpens once again. The Mick would get his revenge later, taking Drysdale deep. That was one of seven homeruns on the day. Red hot, Hank Aaron hit two, as did Willie Mays, for the Hammers, who have now won three in a row. WP-Don Drysdale(2-5). LP-Lew Burdette(0-2). Naturals 7 Mad Dogs 3. The first place Naturals racked up five runs against David Wells, in the first inning, sparked by a Yadier Molina, three run blast. Surprisingly, it was Yaddi’s first of the year. Sammy Sosa committed two errors in this game. Justin Verlander earned the complete game win. WP-Justin Verlander(3-2). LP-David Wells(3-4). Clippers 6 Peaches 3. Dizzy Dean pitched six innings, to earn his seventh win of the year and help the Clippers stay tied with the Naturals at the top of the standings.
