FEATURE GAME Mad Dogs 11 Sultans 2 The Mad Dogs power was on full display, as they slammed a total of six homeruns against Sultan pitching. Mark McGwire becomes the seventh Stratball player to hit three homeruns in one game. No one has ever hit four in a game. Alex Rodriguez had a pair and Sammy Sosa added one. Babe Ruth clubbed his 17th for the Sultans only run of the ballgame. Tom Glavine picked up the complete game win, scattering six hits, with four strikeouts and no walks. WP-Tom Glavine(6-2). B SQUAD GAME Mad Dogs 10 Sultans 1 The Sultans were faced with a pitching dilemma, as starter, Burleigh Grimes and Stan Coveleski were the only available moundsman. Grimes went seven inning, allowing five runs on 11 hits and Coveleski was no better in relief, giving up another five tallies over the final two innings. Rafael Palmerio and Albert Belle each homered for the Mad Dogs. Belle and Mike Piazza had three hits apiece. Pedro Martinez went all the way, fanning 11 as he went. WP-Pedro Martinez(3-1).
